Peter J. Bilfield is co-chair of the Investment Management and Private Funds group at Day Pitney LLP. He advises U.S. and non-U.S. investment managers on the formation and operation of private investment funds, with a particular emphasis on real estate and private credit funds. Peter advises a diverse roster of domestic and international sponsors on all aspects of their business, including fund structuring, negotiating limited partnership agreements and separately managed accounts, developing innovative fee and carried interest arrangements, and navigating complex regulatory and compliance matters. He represents both emerging and institutional asset managers. Peter also advises institutional investors on their investments in private investment funds, providing valuable insight into fund terms and market standards. This dual perspective gives him a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics between fund sponsors and investors.
