Having taken Lucas Energy, Inc. (NYSE: LEI) public as CFO, Malek is an 18-year Chief Operating Officer / Chief Financial Officer veteran of privately and publicly held firms. His experience spans debt and equity capital acquisition, mergers and acquisitions ($170 Million – $1.4 Billion transactions) across the U.S., Vietnam, Mexico and Central America in power generation, gas pipeline, exploration & production, SAAS, electronics, manufacturing and healthcare industries. Malek speaks French, Spanish, served on the board of the National Kidney Foundation (Southeast Texas Region), Assistant Scout Master, and Chairman of the 3,800-member (Texas A&M University alumni nonprofit) Aggie Professional Forum.

Malek lives in Houston with his wife and two children. He is a graduate of The Kinkaid School, Texas A&M University (Bachelors in Civil Engineering) and University of Houston – Bauer School (Masters in Business Administration).
