Sandeep Shah began investing in real estate in 2011. The first Vitae partnership was formed in 2013, which acquired and improved multiplexes in Central Texas. The second Vitae partnership was started in 2015, also acquiring numerous multiplexes. In 2016, Vitae began investing as an LP in real estate projects, eventually forming eight such partnerships. In 2019, a fund structure was started and named Vitae Capital. Vitae Capital invests in residential assets, primarily in the Texas Triangle, and with a few strategic investments in Sun Belt states. To date, five Vitae Capital funds have been formed, and the sixth fund will be launched in 2026. The first fund dedicated to industrial assets was formed in 2025. Vitae is proud to have earned the confidence of over 300 investors in 27 states.

Sandeep graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston with degrees in Political Science and Biology. He earned his MD from the UT Medical Branch, graduating with honors in 2001. Sandeep completed a radiology residency at Emory University. Since 2007, he and his family have lived in Austin. He is on of the board of the SMU Folsom Institute for Real Estate.
