Elaine Hannigan is a Director in the Prime Services group at Scotiabank, in New York. She was recently appointed to a new role: Securities Finance Inventory Origination, focused on increasing access to global supply. Her prior role at Scotiabank was Director, International Securities Lending desk, covering global equities, with a specialization in EMEA, APAC and Latam.
She began her career at Merrill Lynch where she built the Asian securities lending team. She lived in Tokyo and Hong Kong for 8 years working for Merrill Lynch and later for Lehman Brothers. Upon her return to the United States, she joined Barclays Capital on the International Securities Lending desk. She was recruited to LBBW, later acquired by Guggenheim, prior to joining Scotiabank. Elaine received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Vassar College, and her MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
