Gene Meshechek, CFA, Managing Director, is the Global Head of Clients for BlackRock's Securities Lending business within the BlackRock Global Markets group.
Prior to moving to his current role, Mr. Meshechek held various leadership positions in Securities Lending, including as the Head of North American Institutional Product Strategy and the Global Head of Fixed Income Securities Lending Trading, based in New York. Previously, Mr. Meshechek was a portfolio manager in BlackRock's Global Cash Management business, responsible for managing securities lending reinvestment portfolios and hedge fund liquidity sleeves. Mr. Meshechek's service with the firm dates back to 2007, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. Prior to joining BGI, he worked in corporate finance. Mr. Meshechek is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of San Francisco, and is an advisory board member for the Master of Science in Finance program at St. Mary's College of California. Mr. Meshechek is also a member of the leadership team for BlackRock's San Francisco office (SFLT) and sits on the BlackRock Institutional Trust Company (BTC) Management and Enterprise Risk Management committees.
Mr. Meshechek earned a BS degree in Finance from Arizona State University and a Master's of Finance degree from St. Mary's College of California.
