Sudha Datta, previously with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), a sovereign wealth fund with a global, diversified portfolio of holding across sectors, geographies and asset classes. At ADIA, he worked as head of operations and was responsible for custody, securities lending and investment operations, for over 20 years. His role included the selection of custodians and the maintenance of custody relationships. He also played a major role in setting up securities lending program for ADIA.

Sudha is the co-founder/Managing Partner of Soterium (a consulting and advisory firm) and currently serving asset managers, pension funds, family investment offices and sovereign wealth funds (i.e. beneficial owners) as a consultant and advises on securities lending, custody and investment operations. He speaks at various industry conferences /forums on various topics including custody, securities lending, collateral management, Investment Operations and regulations.

Mr. Datta is an associate of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA), a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, U.K and a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments, U.K. He is a public speaker and distinguished toastmaster (DTM) and a long standing member of Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization which promotes public speaking and leadership throughout the globe.

He was honored with the “Industry Legend Award” on 30 November 2016 by the Global Custodian magazine.
