Luis Valdich is the managing partner of VIM Investors, a growth/value investing firm he founded in mid-2025. VIM focuses in the broadly-defined fintech and enterprise AI sectors, where Luis has been investing for 20 years, and targets opportunistic entry points to invest in high-performing late stage/growth unicorns via primary rounds or secondaries.

Prior to VIM, Luis was a Managing Director at Citi Ventures and JPMorgan Strategic Investments and started his venture investing career at Softbank. 31 of Luis’ nearly 100 investments and two thirds of the dollars he has deployed have been in growth-stage companies, which have resulted in 6 IPOs (Palantir, Square/Block, Tradeweb, Markit, AirLease Corp, BATS), 5 M&A exits, 7 on path to IPO, and 11 other unicorns. He has also invested in 25 venture capital funds, mostly in his personal account.

Originally from Bolivia, Luis is a McKinsey alumnus, Harvard Business School MBA, and frequent speaker at fintech and innovation events, and he loves sports, the arts, international travel, and champagne.
