Jung Ho Rhee is President and Chief Executive Officer of Mirae Asset Global Investments (HK) Ltd. – the Hong Kong office of Mirae Asset Global Investments Group (the “Group”). As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Rhee is responsible for overseeing the investment and business development strategies of the firm. Mr. Rhee also serves as the Head of Asia Pacific of the Group, and is responsible for overseeing the long-term growth of the Group’s businesses in the region.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Rhee was Head of Global Asset Allocation for the Group. He was instrumental in formulating macro and country/sector allocation strategies and played a vital role in the supervision of the Group’s investment process. He oversaw a global team of investment professionals focusing on multi-asset and global equities allocation and quantitative analysis for emerging market investment products.
Previously, Mr. Rhee worked at Mirae Asset Securities (HK) as Managing Director of Global Research where he was responsible for developing and overseeing global research activities. He was later appointed as Chief Financial Officer and also headed the investment team managing the Group’s proprietary assets. Before relocating to Hong Kong in 2008, Mr. Rhee worked at Mirae Asset Securities in Korea for eight years as Head of Investment Strategy and latterly as Head of Asia Pacific Research. Prior to that, he spent five years as a Korea Market Strategist for Daewoo Securities and served as an Officer in the Republic of Korea Air Force.
He is a CFA charterholder and gained a Master of Economics from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Economics from Yonsei University in Seoul.
