Profile
Madhu is the Head of Investment Analytics & Sustainability for APAC, BNP Paribas Securities Services and is based in Singapore. In this role, he works with large institutional investors and asset managers in the field of sustainability, investment risk, compliance, and associated investment analytics, providing technical consulting, thought leadership and investment analysis. He leverages a large global group of risk & performance professionals and an industry-leading set of solutions, covering areas such as ESG risk, liquidity risk, stress testing, fixed income attribution, and risk decomposition. His role encompasses:
- Risk analytics solutions consulting with major institutional investors including asset managers, central banks, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and government bodies
- Market and industry research and participation with a focus on regulatory trends, to enable the bank to offer appropriate solutions to our clients
- Presentations to boards, investment committees and senior management of institutional clients on risk and performance topics and investment risk analyses
- Leading the Bank’s efforts in ESG risk analytics, sustainability analytics and reporting to support institutional investors’ ESG integration journey
He has previously worked in multiple front office and middle office roles, including portfolio management, risk management and quantitative analytics, in Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore.
He is a leading expert in the field of ESG and sustainability, having developed a comprehensive ESG analytical tool to support institutional investors in their ESG integration journey, leading the ESG Reporting workstream for the global Sustainable Finance Programme in BNP, and authored several papers in the sustainable investments field, working with the UN PRI and with regional stewardship councils.
Madhu is a regular invited speaker at industry conferences throughout the region on risk and portfolio management topics. He is a CIPM Certificate holder from the CFA Institute, a FRM Certificate holder from the GARP, and also holds a Master of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Sydney, Australia. He is a member of the IMAS Risk and Performance Council in Singapore, a member of the CFA Institute GIPS Interpretations sub-committee, a member of the FSC P-Group in Australia, and a member of the UN PRI SDG Asset Allocation working group.
