T. Scott Sather, CFP®, CIM, FMAPortfolio Manager-Awaken Investments of Aligned Capital Partners Inc. at Financial Planner- Awaken Wealth Management Ltd.Speaker
Profile
Scott spent the majority of his career in the financial services industry (over 25 years and counting) working for a large bank-run wealth management firm. Over time, he realized the focus was more on how to make the firm more money, not how to make a greater difference in the lives of others. He knew there had to be a better way.
In May of 2021, Scott chose to leave the "Big Bank" and founded Awaken Wealth Management Ltd. (Awaken Wealth) and Awaken Investments of Aligned Capital Partners to give his clients a more robust and better wealth experience. At Awaken Wealth he have the best of all worlds with leading technology and tools available to best serve his clients. As a Portfolio Manager, he provides investment advice under the fiduciary standard; a legal requirement to always put the interests of his clients first; and as a Certified Financial Planner he has a duty to act in my client’s interest by placing their interests first.
He’s passionate about the work he does and the opportunity it provides to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Scott holds the Certified Financial Planner®, Chartered Investment Management, and Financial Management Advisor designations, and is a member of the following professional organizations: Financial Planner Association of Canada, Advisor Growth Community, and The Society of Advice.
He was born in Saskatoon but grew up in Regina and attended the University of Regina before starting out in the financial services industry. He’s glad to still call Regina home alongside his wife, Julie, and to have raised their two sons there who have both recently found their partners in life, having been married in December for Kyler and Nicole, and April for Taylen and Emily. Scott currently serves as President on the board of directors for Basketball Saskatchewan and the Regina Estate Planning Council, and enjoys staying actively involved in the many things that make Saskatchewan great.
