International Zeolite receives grant to accelerate fertilizer tech
International Zeolite Corp. is receiving funding to lead commercialization projects to bring alternative fertilizer solutions to market.
These projects will address the dependency of Ontario (Canada) agriculture on imported fertilizers, as well as provide alternatives to traditional fertilizers to ensure a continuous and cost-effective supply of fertilizer products to Canadian agriculture.
The funds were awarded under the province of Ontario’s Fertilizer Accelerating Solutions and Technology Challenge. International Zeolite will use the funds to continue commercializing its zeolite infused products through its production plant in Jordan, Ontario. The company stated its produces can accelerate crop time, reduce up to 80 percent of fertilizer needed to produce crops and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and MPP for Elgin-Middlesex-London, Rob Flack, said the Fertilizer Challenge supports the manufacturing of Ontario made fertilizer options, alternatives and technology for farmers.
“This will mean farmers will spend less on transportation and procurement costs for foreign fertilizers and can concentrate on what they do best – continuing to competitively grow the crops Ontarians rely on every day.”
International Zeolite Corp. is a Canadian company that markets and supplies natural zeolite and zeolite-infused products. The company’s operating segments include the exploration and development segment; and the retail and commercial sales segment which is the key revenue driver.
