Sara Schroter Ross, is General Counsel for Meritus Trust Company Limited (Meritus) a licensed Bermuda trust company which is regulated by the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
Prior to joining Meritus, Sara was General Counsel and a member of the Executive Team for Bermuda Commercial Bank from January 2011 to March 2017, Prior to joining the Bank, Sara spent 3 years as in-house counsel with AXA UK plc.
She has a wide range of legal experience in the banking, regulatory, corporate governance, commercial, corporate and litigation areas.
Sara is Bermudian/British and holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Exeter and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law in London. Upon graduation, she trained with Barlow Lyde and Gilbert in London, was admitted as a solicitor in the UK in 2006 and called to the Bermuda Bar in 2005.
She is a member of the Bermuda Bar Association and the Institute of Directors, and sits on a number of Boards and committees including the BHS Board of Trustees, the IOD Executive Committee, the Bermuda Banker’s Association Legal Sub-Committee, and the Bermuda Business Development Agency Legal Committee.
