Anja Schmidt, PhD is Executive Director, Scientific Publication and Communication Excellence at Bayer. In this role, she provides leadership and direction for processes, systems and governance for scientific publications and communications. Anja has been in pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years, fourteen of which within the field of scientific publications. She has extensive experience across the drug lifecycle, with roles in drug discovery, strategic marketing and medical affairs. Within the area of publications, Anja has held lead roles in development and implementation of publication and communication strategies, development of relevant governance and trainings, and implementation of a publication management system. Anja obtained her PhD in biochemistry from the University of Muenster, Germany .
