Arun KelshikerSenior Advisor at Eden Strategy Institute
Arun Kelshiker brings close to twenty years of multi-asset career experience, having held leadership roles, managed institutional assets and provided investment advisory with leading asset managers and banks including Allianz Global Investors and Standard Chartered. His current focus is sustainable finance and responsible investing, where together with Cambridge Sustainable Investment Partners (which draws its expertise from the Resilience and Sustainable Development Programme at Cambridge University), Arun delivers responsible / sustainable investing solutions, consultancy and training for asset owners, asset managers and industry organisations. He is also a Senior Advisor to Eden Strategy Institute, a specialist consultancy focused on sustainability and innovation.
Arun was formerly the Head of Asset Allocation and Portfolio Strategy at Standard Chartered Bank, providing investment advisory and best of breed fund portfolio solutions for the bank. He was part of Standard Chartered’s Global Investment Committee and the author and responsible for multi-asset and alternatives within Standard Chartered’s global publications for several years. Arun’s institutional background has been with Allianz Global Investors (AGI) and Allianz Group, in which he was involved at the start of AGI. As a senior equities portfolio manager, and later Country CIO, he successfully managed institutional investment mandates for the Allianz Group.
Arun has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, US, and a Masters in International Economics and Management from SDA Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. He is a CFA Charterholder and a CAIA Charterholder. His undergraduate degree is from UMIST, UK. He has completed CFA UK’s ESG Certificate and the Certificate in Sustainable Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. He has also previously authored for Institutional Investors journal on Index Investing.
He has been volunteering with CFA (non- profit) over the past fifteen years, holding board and leadership roles. Currently he contributes to CFA UK within the following areas: Inclusion & Diversity Committee (vice-chair), Pension Expert Panel, ESG Group and CFA UK’s Investment (Reserves) Committee. He is the Deputy Head of Research in Sustainable Finance for the Blockchain and Climate Institute, a global think-tank focused on bringing innovative solutions to combat climate and a university lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management on areas including portfolio management, ESG and risk management.
Arun also acts as an Ambassador for the Diversity Project and a mentor at the Open Private School, both of which are focused on championing the Inclusion and Diversity Agenda within the investment industry. He has also formerly been a long-time volunteer instructor for AIDHA, a “not for profit” school for micro business for domestic workers in Singapore and also the former President of the University of Chicago Alumni Club of Singapore. He is also a regular contributor / speaker at investment conferences and for the media.
