Eduardo Damasio joined ESMA as senior policy officer in the Investors and Issuers Department in 2013. In this capacity, he is responsible for ESMA's working groups focusing on supervisory convergence regarding financial reporting. At ESMA he was responsible for projects such as the revision of Guidelines on enforcement of financial information, the Guidelines on Alternative Performance Measures and other reports on the application of IFRS in Europe. He currently also participates as observer to EFRAG Financial Reporting Board and Accounting Regulatory Committee (ARC) as an alternate member.
Prior to joining ESMA, Eduardo worked as financial analyst in the Portuguese Securities Regulator (CMVM) where he was responsible for the supervision of financial information and approval of prospectuses. He was also a manager of the IFRS desk in Ernst & Young Portugal. Eduardo holds a Master of Finance, and he is a certified public accountant in Portugal.
