Hammond is VP - Group Financial Reporting at AstraZeneca. He heads up the Group’s accounting and reporting over financial and sustainability activities, regulatory compliance and technical guidance, and specialist finance including treasury, M&A and business transformation. He has extensive skills leading teams in IFRS technical accounting, group consolidations, financial analysis and reporting, risk management and controls / compliance in the energy, pharma and retail industries. AstraZeneca’s financial reporting is recognised as being very high quality and the Group is regularly amongst the fastest FTSE100 companies to announce annual results and complete its Annual Report. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Hammond was Group VP - Corporate Finance at Curium Pharma, Group Head of Policy & External Reporting at Tesco and Assistant Head of Accounting Policy, IST at BP. He has over 25 years’ experience of leading financial teams. Hammond studied engineering in Kenya and qualified with PwC in Kenya and the UK.
