He works closely with stock exchanges, central counterparty clearing Houses (CCPs), central securities depositories (CSDs), and regulatory institutions in these markets, as part of the regional capital market development and implementation of best practices.

He is a frequent speaker at industry events including the Middle East Securities Forum and the Association of Middle East and Africa Central Securities Depositories (AMEDA). He is an active member of the Turkish Capital Markets Association.

Gunsel takes a special interest in motivation and team building and leadership development. He developed a workshop named ‘Best of You’ and hosted various sessions at Citi, as well as at ‘Citi affiliated institutions’ such as AmCham, Junior Achivement and Universities, in a number of cities. He joined Toastmasters, a public speaking club in 2014 and served as the President of Bosphorus Toastmasters 2016 – 2017, receiving the International Toastmasters’ Competent Communicator Certificate in 2016.

Gunsel holds a B.Sc. degree in computer engineering and M.Sc. degrees in money and banking, and international banking and finance, as well as a Ph.D. degree in corporate finance.
