Mohammed Said Al-Abri has over 19 years’ experience in the capital market and financial services industry, ranging from asset and portfolio management in the private sector to capital market regulation and policy development in the public sector.
He is currently Vice President of the Capital Market Sector of the Capital Market Authority, Oman (the capital market regulator). His responsibilities include the development, regulation and supervision of new issues of shares (IPO and secondary issues), bonds, sukuks, investment funds and restructures, and also regulatory supervision and compliance of publicly listed companies and investment funds.
He is a board member of the Technical Committee constituted under the National Committee for AML & CFT in the Sultanate of Oman, the Oman Sovereign Sukuk company SAOC, and of Muscat Clearing and Depository SAOC. He is also a key technical and policy advisor to a number of Oman national financial and industry committees.
Mohammed is a graduate of Economics from the Yarmouk University of Jordan and a Master Degree holder in Banking & Finance Law (LLM) from the University of London.
