Brian Reynolds is the Chief Market Strategist for Reynolds Strategy LLC. He specializes in relating developments in the U.S. credit, credit derivatives and shadow banking markets to the U.S. equity market and other financial markets. Beginning in 1984, he spent 16 years on the buy side as a money market and fixed income portfolio manager for David L.. Babson & Co. as the U.S. credit market grew from a small financing arena to become a major driver of financial market booms and busts. As the former head of both structured finance and money markets as both areas developed in the 1980’s and 1990’s, Brian is intimately familiar with the growth of shadow banking that helped to fuel the credit boom and bust cycles of the 1990’s, 2000’s and the current cycle that began in 2009.
