Samantha DeZur is a director of the Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness at the
U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She covers policy issues related to the asset management
industry and derivatives, both domestically and internationally. In addition, she leads
two EU working groups, collaborates with the Coalition for Derivatives End-Users,
leads a joint trades working group advocating for relief from inter-affiliate initial
margin requirements, and participates in several joint trades working groups related to
the DOL’s and SEC’s work around creating a fiduciary standard.
Before joining the Chamber, DeZur worked on the government relations team at CME
Group in Chicago, where she advocated on issues impacting the derivatives market
at the state, federal, and international levels. Previously, she was a vice president at
the Bond Dealers of America, advocating on policy issues affecting the fixed income
market, as well as a vice president at the Education Finance Council, advocating on
policy issues impacting asset-backed securities and the student loan market.
DeZur holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
and a Master’s from Georgetown University.
