Dr. Daniel Garcia-Seco is Agronomist (biotechnology speciality) and Doctor cum laude by San Pablo CEU University (Best Thesis Award). After 13 years of experience in R&D (Academy and Industry) in United Kingdom, France and Spain, currently he is the R&D Director in AFEPASA (Tarragona, Spain), developing new biofertilizers, biostimulants and biopesticides.
Master in Agroforest Biotechnology by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (2010-2011). He completed his PhD in the Rhizosphere Biotechnology research group in USP CEU. After his PhD he moved to France to Post-Doc position in IRD, Montpellier (France), in a project about the Plant-Microbe interactions in wheat, applying transcriptomics and proteomics to the plant-microbe interactions.
He has participated in more than 40 R&D projects as PhD student, postdoc researcher, R&D manager and R&D Director, and presented more than 20 communications to national and international conferences (4 oral invited presentation) and to date, has published more than 12 articles, one patent and one book chapter, with another 6 more under review. He has also made a pre-doctoral stay at the John Innes Centre in Norwich (UK), Department of Metabolic Biology, with Cathie Martin´s research group to develop a RNA-seq project and to improve knowledge about quantitative PCR and identification of structural genes and transcription factors
