Jaroslav obtained a Master's degree in Teaching Biology and Chemistry for secondary schools at Palacky University in Olomouc in the Czech Republic. Then he finished two PhD programmes, one focused on Plant Physiology and one on Organic chemistry. Since 2022 he has been head of the Isotope Laboratory at the Institute of Experimental Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences, which produces radiolabelled plant hormones. He is also interested in the development of plant growth regulators with potential in agriculture. An example is MTU, a biostimulant sold currently in several EU countries and the UK.
