Robert Welzel advises international clients in the asset management sector, such as fund companies, administrators and software vendors on business development, process optimization, tax compliance and cross-border structuring of investments. His work includes providing support to hedge funds and investment banks for structuring investment products in line with German tax legislation and supervisory regulations as well as structured finance solutions.

After having completed his law studies, Robert Welzel initially served as a civil court judge. He then worked for several years in the tax departments M&A/Corporate Restructuring and Financial Services of Big Four audit firms, most recently as the leader of the Hedge Funds, Structured Products and Foreign Funds section.
