Darla Champigny is Executive Director, Legal Counsel at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, where she advises on commercial legal matters and is lead counsel for the Global Rare business unit. Additionally, her team is responsible for legal advice pertaining to data privacy and digital & data initiatives. Prior to joining Alnylam, Darla was corporate counsel at a small commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company, counseling on a variety of legal matters including clinical research, advertising and promotion, supply chain, and employment. Her responsibilities there also included day-to-day implementation of the company compliance program. Darla previously worked for a health system within the National Health Service in the UK, negotiating research collaborations and supporting clinical research and employee innovation matters. She started her career as an application engineer for a chemicals company, consistent with her chemical engineering undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Darla is a registered US patent attorney and holds a JD from Suffolk University Law School and MBA from the Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University as well as the high class honors JD/MBA award. She most recently spoke on omnichannel considerations in life sciences at the Compliance Congress for Specialty Products in September 2023.
