Lulu Wang, PhD, is VP, Head of Intellectual Property at Orna Therapeutics, a biotechnology company building new treatments for cancers and genetic diseases. She leads global intellectual property strategy and has over ten years of experience building, defending, and challenging pharmaceutical patent portfolios, as well as conducting patent due diligences for multimillion and multibillion dollar deals.
Prior to joining Orna, Lulu was a patent litigator and prosecutor at Finnegan, representing innovative biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including AbbVie, Eli Lilly, and Novartis, in obtaining, defending, and challenging patents in federal court and post-grant proceedings before patent offices. She litigated several of the earliest biosimilars cases under the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act (BPCIA), which included navigating the BPCIA patent dance, Purple Book, and parallel patent office proceedings. In 2020, she received Finnegan’s inaugural Mentor of the Year award.
Lulu earned her BA in Biology from Harvard College, PhD in Neurobiology from Harvard Medical School, and JD from Harvard Law School.
