Danielle Lavallée is a bilingual (French/English) expert in legal and compliance matters with over 20 years of experience. Her work experience is diverse, having served as legal counsel at one of Canada’s largest national law firms(Borden Ladner Gervais LLP) and as legal counsel, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Privacy Officer for two major Canadian corporations in highly regulated industries (Toronto Hydro and Philips Canada).

Danielle prides herself in providing pragmatic and strategic legal advice to executives, boards of directors and a variety of businesses. Danielle’s multiple areas of expertise include corporate and commercial law, ethics and compliance, pension law, consumer protection, M&A, corporate governance, French language laws, marketing and advertising law, anti-trust, privacy law, employment law, litigation management and regulatory compliance.

Danielle holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Dual Specialization in Marketing and Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Laws (Gold Medalist) from the University of Ottawa.

For the past 10 years, Danielle has acted as Head of Legal & Compliance for Philips Canada. In this role, Danielle oversees all legal and compliance matters for Philips Canada’s highly diversified lines of business including its former lighting business, various personal consumer products businesses (e.g., Avent, Sonicare, Philips grooming products), its former medical alert business and its healthcare technology and solutions business. Danielle is a member of Philips Canada’s Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors and Executive Pension Committee.

Danielle is also the Co-Chair of the MedTech Canada Code of Conduct Steering Committee and Compliance Committee, providing strategic healthcare compliance advice and support to Canada’s national trade association focused on the medical technology industry.
