Health & Safety Guidelines
Informa and PM Springfest care strongly about our network of exhibitors, colleagues and industry communities. It is our top priority to ensure our events will be organized in accordance with official government and local authority guidelines, as well as any venue or location specific regulations.
Please note that all restrictions and requirements are subject to change at any time to best protect the health and safety of all its audiences in accordance with government guidelines and legal allowances.

All persons onsite should review the following information regarding Health, Safety & Security.
Health & Safety
All persons active in onsite activities should be properly trained and aware of the appropriate safety responsibilities pertinent to the tasks they are performing.
- All participants must comply with the legislation contained in the Occupational Health & Safety Act, governed by the Province of Ontario.
- All equipment must be inspected an in proper working condition.
- When lifting, test the load for weight if it’s too heavy or awkward, seek assistance.
- When lifting bend your knees, as you lift, keep your back straight and the load close to your body. Don’t twist or side bend while moving with a load.
- All persons involved in the move-in and move-out process are required to wear proper protective footwear, steel toed shoes strongly recommended. Hard hats and hi-visibility safety vests as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- As an employer, it is your responsibility to ensure any staff/third party contractors comply with the legislation as well as the Exhibitor Health & Safety Regulations as agreed upon in your contract.
NOTE: Please refer to the MTCC's Guidelines for Exhibitors and EAC's for additional booth regulations that must be adhered to.
Emergency Procedures on the Show Floor
Familiarize yourself with the MTCC's Emergency Procedures prior to arriving onsite as in the event of an evacuation, you should understand what to do.
Hazardous Materials/Products - SDS Required
Exhibitors planning on bringing hazardous materials or products onsite (including install/dismantle or in-booth demonstrations) must provide copies of each SDS (safety data sheet) to Maggie Roman at maggie.roman@informa.com by March 26, 2025. Exhibitors must have extra copies in their booth, should they be asked to show proof onsite or for emergency situations.
Fire Rules & Regulations
The MTCC maintains a high level of fire safety in the facility and exhibitors are required to follow these Fire Rules & Regulations. After reviewing these, every exhibitor is required to complete the Fire Safety Reply form and RETURN IT DIRECTLY TO THE METRO TORONTO CONVENTION CENTRE via email to FireSafetyReply@mtccc.com by March 27, 2025.
PLEASE NOTE: The Ontario Building Code prohibits the use of flammable materials in booth construction and décor and if any materials or equipment are considered to be hazardous, the Fire Safety Officer at the MTCC will remove them at the exhibitor's expense.
