Henry Abbott is a policy officer in the European Commission Directorate-General for Competition, dealing in particular with matters related to the ‘European Competition Network’ and to the private enforcement of EU competition law.

Prior to joining DG Competition in 2023, he worked for three years in the European Commission Directorate-General for Trade, dealing with dispute settlement and legal aspects of trade policy.

Before that, he assisted and advised the European Commission Hearing Officers for competition proceedings for over six years.

From 2004 to 2013, he was a legal secretary (‘référendaire‘) at the Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

Previously, he worked in private legal practice in Brussels and London.
