Mark is an antitrust litigation partner and head of litigation in Freshfields’ London office. He also jointly leads Freshfields’ global antitrust litigation group.
Mark has acted on many of the leading UK competition damages cases, including collective proceedings in the CAT and UK appeal courts. His recent cases include acting for Mastercard on the Merricks v Mastercard collective proceedings; for ABB in BritNed v ABB, the first cartel damages follow-on claim to go to final judgment in the UK; for Infineon in its recent successful defence in Gemalto v Infineon; and for defendants in the three UK rail tickets collective proceedings (Gutmann v LSER, Boyle v GTR and Gutmann v GTR).
Mark is a leading competition litigator and a previous recipient of the GCR Litigator of the Year (worldwide) award, in 2019. He is named by Who's Who Legal as one of the global thought leaders in competition litigation.
