Rhea Gupta is the Legal and Policy Officer at the Class Representatives Network, an NGO founded by Walter Merricks CBE to assist and support class representatives leading collective actions in the UK. Rhea's work with the Class Representatives Network involves supporting class representatives with information about legal developments and best practice within collective actions, and conducting empirical research on class representatives' experiences. Rhea is sitting on the Consultative Group for the Civil Justice Council's ongoing consultation on Third Party Litigation Funding, and leading an empirical research project on class representatives' experiences with third-party litigation funders. Her publications include a recent research report titled 'Selecting Litigation Funders and Negotiating Funding Agreements' (September 2024); reference to this report was made before the Competition Appeal Tribunal in the second CPO hearing in Christine Riefa v Apple and Amazon [2025] CAT 5.
Rhea is a graduate in Classics at the University of Cambridge, and holds an LLB from Queen Mary University of London (First Class). In 2024, she completed the Bachelor of Civil Laws at the University of Oxford, achieving a Distinction and winning the Law Faculty Prize for Principles of Civil Procedure.
