Dr. Sophie Gappa is a lawyer and senior policy officer in the Competition Unit of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. For the German Government she lead the negotiations on the Digital Markets Act. Sophie also worked on current amendments to the German Cartel Act and in particular the new rule for large digital players (§19a GWB). Prior to joining the competition community, Sophie focused on trade policy working for the Ministry and the European Commission.
