Profile

Zsuzsa Cserhalmi is a competition lawyer specialising in digital economy with more than 15 years of experience in the European Commission's Competition Directorate General. She is currently Acting Head of the Unit responsible for ensuring the coherent and effective application of EU competition law across Member States and private enforcement. Until recently, as member of the Directorate dealing with digital markets, she was in charge of the preparation of the Digital Markets Act and its inter-institutional negotiation. She was also responsible for the legal and economic assessment in investigations into conducts of digital platforms. Before that, she was in charge of the e-commerce sector inquiry and dealt with online vertical agreements.

Previously, Zsuzsa was in charge of the application of merger and antitrust rules in the area of consumer goods, basic industries, manufacturing, food and agriculture in the Competition Directorate General. She conducted numerous competition investigations in merger cases and in cases involving anti-competitive agreements and abuse of dominant position.

She also worked in the European Commission's Internal Market Directorate General providing legal advice on the implementation of internal market rules.

Zsuzsa holds a Master's Degree in EU Law from the College of Europe in Bruges and a DES en Droit Européen from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
