Profile

Sergio is a partner in Meridiam, he has been working in the company for the last 10 years. He is responsible for the structuring and Global Funding activity of Meridiam and he also oversees the asset portfolio and business development in Spain & Portugal

He joined Meridiam in December 2013 after having worked for more than 15 years in the banking industry.

Sergio worked for 7 years in the Project & Structured Finance department of BBVA in Paris, structuring, advising and/or lending in PPP Projects, Infrastructure Assets (Greenfield and Brownfield) including acquisitions, most of them in France.

Before that, he was in charge of the Global Relationship in BBVA in France, for a period of 6 years, of an important portfolio of clients from different sectors, as construction and concession companies (i.e: Vinci, Eiffage…), leisure and transportation… where he was directly involved in relevant transactions as the APRR toll road privatization in 2005/2006 with Eiffage and Macquarie

Previously, Sergio worked for c.3 years at the BBVA Headquarters in Madrid being responsible of the Global Relationship of different important Spanish companies, mainly related with the constructions sector having participated in the financing of some important project finance transactions in Chile as “Los Vilos-La Serena”.

Sergio graduated in Finance and Business Administration (E-2) from ICADE Business School, Comillas University (Madrid, Spain) and has carried out an Advanced Program in International Finance at IEB (“Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles”) in collaboration with the London School of Economics and Political Science.
