Awat Rahimi is a Senior quantitative risk SME at Alpha FMC – working within the Regulation, Risk and Compliance Practice. Before joining Alpha in November 2022, Dr Rahimi was at the FCA where he spent 5 years working in the Prudential Specialists Department. His responsibilities included assessing ICAAPs/ICARAs, capital benchmarking, operational risk modelling and defining the prudential data strategy for firms which the FCA have prudential responsibility. Prior to joining the FCA, he held positions in a bank and a Fintech as a quant specialising in risk.

Awat earned a PhD in Astrophysics from University College London.
