In recent years there has been a shift in how real-world evidence (RWE) is viewed by the pharmaceutical industry. Due to the examples set throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, manufacturers are increasingly considering RWE as an end-to-end solution that can be utilised throughout the drug development process from initial research & development all the way to post-marketing activities. This increasing focus on RWE has led to the launch of several frameworks which formalise the standards for high-quality RWE. With this in mind, this session will explore the current and evolving use-cases for RWE in the drug development process, with a particular focus on health-technology assessment.
