Redesigning STCW – An opportunity for first movers

CrewConnect Global 2018, Manila

It is widely accepted that rapid development of technology is not followed by development of competence of personnel in the maritime industry. STCW – Manila amendments, a project 7 years in the making, or rather, in the finalisation of implementation, is already challenged. There are no current plans at the IMO to amend the STCW and in some countries the journey to give complete effect to the Manila amendments 2010 continues. What can our industry do in order to compensate? That is what the panellists are here to discuss:

  • Natalie Shaw, Director of Employment Affairs, International Chamber of Shipping (ICS)

  • Capt. Pradeep Chawla, Chairman / Managing Director QHSE & Training, GlobalMET / Anglo-Eastern Ship Management

  • Fared Khan, Marine Director, Wallem Shipmanagement

  • Gordon Meadow, Principal Curriculum Developer / Educational Consultant Company Founder and MD, SeaBot XR

  • Torbjorn Eide, Vice President, Klaveness Ship Management

The discussion is moderated by Roger Ringstad, Managing Director, Seagull Maritime AS. Log in or register to watch >>>
