Kerri Harper-Howie is an attorney and McDonald’s franchisee in partnership with her sister, Nicole Harper Rawlins. Kerri and her sister own and operate 21 McDonald’s franchises across Los Angeles County. They are proud to own all of the McDonald’s in the City of Compton, and in many other communities of color.
Before her McCareer began, Kerri attended the University of California, Berkeley where she double majored in Political Science and Rhetoric. Kerri then attended NYU School of Law. Her 13-year legal career focused on employment law first at Paul Hastings law firm, and then in-house with at&t and 24 Hour Fitness. Kerri became an approved McDonald’s franchisee in 2017.
In addition to being a franchisee, Kerri co-hosts The Hats Podcast on which she shares personal stories and tips on how to balance a life in which one wears many different hats.
Kerri is proud to serve on the Parent DEI and community service committees at her son’s school, the executive board of the Inglewood Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Incorporated, the Advisory Council of the Brother Crusade, and the Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House. Kerri is a co-founder and executive board member of the California Alliance of Family Owned Businesses. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Inglewood Alumni Chapter.
Within McDonald’s, Kerri is the President of the Southern California Black McDonald’s Operators Association chapter, Women Owners Network Long Beach Field Office Advocate and Government Relations Lead, MOASC Board Member, and MOASC NFLA Co-Rep.
