Leon Chen is a Managing Director and the Global Head of Risk Management. He and his Global Risk Management team are responsible for all aspects of risk management at the firm, covering equity and fixed income universes for both traditional as well as alternative (hedge funds) investments. He began working in the investment field in 2001. Prior to joining Lazard in 2021, Leon was a Risk Manager at Avenue Capital Management, Chief Risk Officer at Basso Capital, Risk Manager at DKR Capital Ltd., and Financial Analyst at Camden Asset Management. He has an MBA from Columbia University and a BA in International Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Leon holds the Professional Risk Manager (PRM) designation and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
