Professor Emerita Sue Fletcher is a graduate of the University of Zimbabwe and The University of Western Australia. She currently holds an Emeritus position at Murdoch University and is an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at The University of Western Australia. Sue is a member of the team that pioneered the development of novel antisense oligonucleotides to treat the fatal childhood muscle wasting disorder, Duchenne muscular dystrophy. She is a co-inventor of additional rare disease antisense drug candidates that are in clinical trials and pre-clinical development. She continues to collaborate on rare disease research with colleagues across Australia.
