Sophia Lugo is CEO, Chairman, and Co-Founder at Radar Therapeutics, which develops genetic medicines that turn on only in the right cell, at the right time with exquisite specificity. For her work at Radar, Sophia has been recognized as a Biocom Catalyst Award winner (top 10 disruptors of the life science industry under 40), San Francisco Business Times 40 under 40, and NHI Person of the Year. Before Radar, Sophia held strategy and product roles at BGI Genomics’ Health Division and Ventures Incubator, BCG, the US Surgeon General's Office, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she led COVAX planning efforts and Covid Vaccine Rollout tracking, communications, and real-time strategic response. She received her Bachelor’s from Harvard University, Masters from Tsinghua University through the Schwarzman Scholars Program, and MBA from Stanford University. Today, she believes exquisite specificity and in vivo programmability are the next frontier for genetic medicines.
