David Park is a Unit Chief in the Office of Economic Sanctions Policy and Implementation at the U.S. Department of State. In this role, he advises senior Department officials on economic sanctions and leads a team that develops and implements sanctions policy while providing foreign policy guidance to the U.S. Departments of the Treasury and Commerce on Asia and Middle East issues.Prior to his current role, David served as Senior Advisor to the Acting Assistant Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary in Treasury's Office of Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes. He also served as Treasury's first attaché to the Republic of Korea. Before joining Treasury, David worked in the office of U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly as a Defense and Foreign Affairs Legislative Staffer.David began his public service career as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, where he instructed courses on North Korea and China and providing combat support to the warfighter, among other duties.David holds a BA with honors from the University of California, Berkeley; a MPA from the University of Oklahoma; and a MA from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
