A member of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation started his career as a journeyman plumber/Gasfitter and worked across Saskatchewan and Alberta. Barrett was a former councillor of his nation, entrepreneur and business owner for over ten years. A graduate from the UofS Kanawayihetaytan Askiy certificate program gave him a greater understanding of indigenous land development which led to a position with Altus Group focusing on surveying, GIS, and mapping as well as property taxation assessment. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer overseeing the operations of MLCN Investment Corp. group of companies including McKnight property management with 290000 SQFT of commercial real estate in both the Saskatoon and Regina markets, two Petro Canada brand fuel stations and stand alone Licensed Starbucks location. Barrett is also proud to give back to the community by sitting on STC Investments/ STC Casino holdings boards and as a board member with SREDA.
