Profile
With around 28 years of experience in the maritime industry, I hold an MSc in Marine Operations Management from Middlesex University (UK), along with diplomas in Harbour Master and Marine Surveying from Lloyd’s Academy, and a Second Mate Navigation Certificate. My career began with seven years as a navigating officer on oil tankers, followed by 13 years as a tug master at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). I now serve as Section Head of the Oil Spill Unit at KOC, leading readiness and response for offshore incidents in the Arabian Gulf. I have been recognized with the KOC CEO HSSE Award (2023–2024) for excellence in OSRV management and crew training, and the Go Green Project Award at the 2018 Marine Forum for reducing fuel combustion from an operational aspect. I have also spoken at leading industry events, including the RECSO Envirospill 2025 Kuwait Conference, and my current focus is advancing OSRV/OSV Master competency training, integrating technical and behavioral skills to ensure safer and more resilient offshore operations.
