Dr. Ahmed Aljizani is a highly accomplished expert in logistics and supply chain management with over two decades of experience in designing transportation strategies, analyzing competition, and driving regulatory and operational excellence. His work has significantly impacted the transport and logistics sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), aligning with Saudi Vision 2030. He is a recognized Subject Matter Expert in transport competition, economic feasibility, and the development of composite indices for the transport sector.

As General Manager of Freight Transport at the Transport General Authority, Dr. Aljizani led the development of the National Land Transport Strategy, enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of the freight transport industry. He also played a pivotal role in improving Saudi Arabia’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) ranking by simplifying regulations and attracting private-sector investments.

Dr. Aljizani’s expertise includes creating methodologies and guidelines for economic feasibility in public transportation. As Chief Supply Chain Officer at the Ministry of Health, he implemented logistics strategies for the National Blood Transfusion Services Centre, reducing transportation time by 69% and achieving SAR 22 million in savings.

His research includes:

• Reduction of Emissions Towards Net Zero in Saudi Arabia Maritime Transportation.

• Strengthening Regulatory and Policy Frameworks in Saudi Arabia’s Maritime Sector to Achieve Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction Targets.

He also has a proven track record in developing economic composite indices to evaluate and improve transport sector performance. His policies at the Transport General Authority enhanced the sustainability and competitiveness of freight transport in KSA.

Dr. Aljizani holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Hull University Business School, UK, and a bachelor’s degree in systems and industrial engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia. He is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM), with additional training in innovation and sustainable logistics from the Mobility Academy.

In leadership roles, including as CEO of the Saudi Logistics Academy, he developed corporate strategies, secured private-sector jobs for graduates, and established

partnerships with global organizations such as MIT Zaragoza Logistics Center and CILT. His research and projects in the UK and Saudi Arabia have reduced CO2 emissions, optimized freight transport, and advanced trade efficiency.

Dr. Aljizani’s commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and economic growth continues to shape the future of transportation and logistics in KSA.
