Dr. Nils Kemme has been leading the business of HPC Hamburg Port Consulting as Managing Director since 2021 and has been a Partner since 2019.

With over 15 years of experience in the port and terminal industry, Nils specializes in strategic development and sustainable optimization. As head of simulation at HPC, he has spearheaded over 40 development and optimization projects across six continents, driving significant advancements in the industry.

Nils has been instrumental in developing HPC’s proprietary simulation tools, ensuring optimal investments, increased capacity and performance, and significant reductions in operating costs and emissions. His expertise and innovative approach have consistently delivered double-digit improvements in these areas.

In addition to his professional achievements, Nils is a renowned speaker at international port and transport industry events and a prolific author, with several books and articles published on the subject.

He holds a Ph.D. in container terminal design, planning, and optimization from the University of Hamburg, and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Christian Albrechts University in Kiel and the BI Norwegian School of Management.

Nils began his career in the port industry in 2006 and joined HPC in 2007.
