Francesco Calanca is a seasoned Marine operations leader with over two decades of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry. As the Senior Director of Marine Operations for McDermott International in the Middle East, he manages a significant OPEX and CAPEX budget manages and oversees a vast fleet of offshore construction vessels. His responsibilities include offshore operations, maintenance, crewing, chartering, logistics, and client inspections, among other areas.

Previously, Francesco held the position of Project Proposal Director at Petrofac, where he played a pivotal role in securing a $14.1 billion contract for TenneT’s offshore wind program. He has extensive experience with major oil and gas clients like Aramco, ADNOC, and Qatar Gas, driving strategic alliances and aligning offshore fleet compositions to meet future industry needs.

Earlier in his career, Francesco held Senior Project Management roles at Saipem, managing complex subsea projects and pipeline installations. He holds a master’s in mechanical engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma.
