Gareth Burton is Senior Vice President, Global Engineering for ABS. He is a long-timeABS employee, having joined in 2001, as an engineer. While at ABS, Gareth has heldseveral key positions, including Principal Engineer, Director of Engineering, VicePresident of Operational and Environmental Performance, and Vice President ofTechnology, just to name a few. His positions have spanned the globe, including theU.S., Mexico and Singapore.

In his current role, Gareth leads the ABS Engineering function, responsible for thereview and approval of designs of marine and offshore assets for compliance withABS, national and international requirements.

Gareth holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manchester, England andmaster’s and doctorate engineering degrees from the University of Ulster, Belfast,Northern Ireland. In addition, he has completed the Executive MBA program atTexas A&M University.
