Kris Vedat was appointed Chief Executive Officer of SmartSea in July 2025, having originally joined the company as Chief Technology Officer in January 2025. With over two decades of experience in the maritime industry, Kris brings deep expertise in digital transformation, operational leadership, and global IT strategy.

Before joining SmartSea, Kris served as Head of Technology and Logistics at P&O Maritime Logistics, where he led the company’s digital transformation—implementing its first Maritime ERP system, executing a cloud-first strategy, and connecting the fleet to shore-based operations. He also held the role of Head of IT at Topaz Energy and Marine and spent 15 years at United Arab Shipping Company, where he led regional teams across Europe and West Africa before relocating to the UAE to head up global service operations across IT and logistics.

Kris’s leadership reflects a strong commitment to driving innovation, operational excellence, and industry collaboration within the maritime technology space.
