Dr. Capt. Ahmed Youssef is the Associate Dean of the College of Maritime Transport and Technology in Sharjah, UAE branch of AASTMT (Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport). Moreover, Ahmed is a Master Mariner who worked onboard different types of vessels. He obtained his Ph.D. in Maritime Technology from Liverpool, United Kingdom. While a master’s degree in quality management and Productivity, Post Graduate Diploma, and B.Sc. (Hons) of Maritime Transport and Technology, from the AASTMT, Egypt.
Since 2003, he has been a Faculty in AASTMT of Maritime Transport topics and Leadership. He also taught as a visiting professor at Maine Maritime Academy in the United States of America and as a Maritime Consultant for City Unity College in Athens, Greece. In addition to being the director of the International Forum for Maritime Transport from 2011 to 2019, which is a non-profit organization working under the Arab Academy, his scope was business development and Maritime international cooperation aiming to promote the Academy’s partnerships with Maritime stakeholders.
During his career, he participated as a Guest Speaker and published papers at many international conferences in the fields of Maritime Technology, Educational Technology, Maritime H.R, and methods of maintaining sustainable development of the Maritime industry and its caliber. He introduced the intelligent/interactive Maritime education and training application (iMET) beyond the e-Learning concept, as he holds this application's intellectual copyrights property certificate.
Ahmed's experience includes management, business development, strategic planning, maritime education management, and maritime technology.
