Mohammad Saleem Sabir is a seasoned professional in Maritime operations and Fleet management. He is currently the Director Technical Fleet Management, QMR & EMR, at Hapag Lloyd Fleet Management, Dubai.
Mohammad has held several leadership positions throughout his career, serving previously as the Director of HSSEQ, DPA- CSO at Hapag Lloyd Fleet Management in Dubai. Prior to that, he served as Head of HSSEQ, DPA- CSO at United Arab Shipping Company in Dubai. Mohammad also has extensive Classification and Regulatory compliance experience working for DNV- GL in Dubai, where he served as a Senior Marine Surveyor, and Lead Auditor for 10 years.
Mohammad holds an MBA in Ship Management from the University of Middlesex, London, a Bachelor of Science degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering & Naval Architecture from the University of Karachi, and a Certificate of Competency Class 1 (Chief Engineer) for Motorships and Steam Ships (Combined) from UK.
Mohammad’s skill also includes his experience as a Lead Auditor for Quality Management Systems according to ISO 9001:2015, Occupational Health & Safety Management systems according to ISO 45001:2018, and Environmental Management Systems according to ISO 14001:2015. He holds a Principal Auditor, designation from the International Institute of Registered Auditors (IRCA) in ISM, QMS, EMS and OHSMS.
With a background in marine engineering, oil and gas operations, and regulatory compliance, Sabir has extensive experience in managing multi-million budgets and diverse multi-cultural teams to ensure operational, technical, and HSSEQ oversight for ships and marine assets. He is an expert in sustainable HSSEQ policy-shaping and implementation, people leadership and organizational governance.
Mohammad Sabir is an active member of several professional bodies, including the LR Middle East & Africa Asia Advisory Committee and the DNV GL Middle East Technical Committee. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology, UK, and a member of the Marshall Islands Flag Quality Council (MIQC).
